Michael Leon has a new website, Michael Leon Studio Dot Com. Growing up skateboarding I have always been inspired by his creativity and originality as a designer and artist. He’s got a pretty impressive and diverse body of works so be sure to check out his stuff. If you want some more on Michael, check out this video made by John Trippe of Fecal Face.

I was looking around for some inspiration on an upcoming project when I came across what I consider to be one of my favorite if not most favorite board graphic series. The series is done by Mr. Evan Hecox, the art director behind chocolate skateboards. You can check out his site here. When I get enough extra cashflow I hope to have the whole series hanging proudly on my wall.
I found the images of the boards in this great little PDF I came across a while back called “A Brief Summary of Skateboard Graphics.” If you’d like a copy you can download it by clicking here (18.3 MB).

I’m both humbled and really excited to be included in Bob Kronbauer’s new Club Mumble, formerly known as mumble magazine. Club Mumble is a group of people who are all somehow tied to contemporary art, skateboarding and street culture, the group of contributors is seriously stacked! I’ve looked up to and been inspired by so many of these people growing up as a skater, designer and artist. Check it out.
