Fernie Mobile Home Park

I recently spent a bit of time up in the Canadian Rockies - specifically Banff, Lake Louise & Fernie. I came across a good number of hand lettered signage and was able to take a couple of quick pics.  I’ve made a little set on flickr, check it out.

2 great designers & friends of mine have recently launched new sites:  Nick Zinger’s new design portfolio (Zinger Design) & blog, and Nathan Matthews new design portfolio (Giant Human) & blog.

I also just had my first day  of work (If you can call it that - A pot luck and lots of free beer…) with a great forward thinking web design & development company here in Calgary, Clickspace.  I’m really excited to be working with these guys & gals, they seem like a great bunch of people.

Ken Robinson: A new view on human capacity

I came across this great video of Ken Robinson that really hit a chord with me.  I’ve always felt that no one should be limited to a specific job title and should try as many things as they can untill they find their niche.  Watch the video, Ken hits a good number of valid points, especially when it comes to the education system. It’s inspiring.

Evan Hecox Soda Bottles Series

I was looking around for some inspiration on an upcoming project when I came across what I consider to be one of my favorite if not most favorite board graphic series.  The series is done by Mr. Evan Hecox, the art director behind chocolate skateboards. You can check out his site here. When I get enough extra cashflow I hope to have the whole series hanging proudly on my wall.

I found the images of the boards in this great little PDF I came across a while back called “A Brief Summary of Skateboard Graphics.” If you’d like a copy you can download it by clicking here (18.3 MB).
